Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how NK Education Academy ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal information when you visit nkgglobaleducation.github.io (the "Site"), including our blog, or otherwise contact us for coaching enquiries. This policy is drafted with reference to the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder. By using the Site or submitting your information to us, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information only when you choose to provide it, and only what is reasonably necessary for the purpose stated at the point of collection:

  • Enquiry / Admission Form: Name, phone/WhatsApp number, program of interest, current study level, preferred batch, and any message you enter. This is sent to us via WhatsApp and recorded in a private, access-restricted Google Sheet for internal follow-up.
  • Contact via WhatsApp or Phone: If you contact us directly, standard information available through those services (e.g. your phone number, profile name, chat history) is shared with us as part of that conversation.
  • Automatically Collected Data: Like most websites, technical data such as browser type, device type and approximate location may be collected by third-party services embedded on the Site (see "Cookies" and "Third-Party Services" below). We do not run our own analytics or tracking scripts beyond these.

We do not collect payment card details, bank details, or government ID numbers (such as Aadhaar or PAN) through this Site. Any such information, if ever required for admission formalities, is collected offline and never through this website.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

How We Use Your Information & Legal Basis

We process your personal data only for clear, specific purposes, and rely on your consent (given by voluntarily submitting the form or messaging us) as the legal basis under the DPDP Act:

  • To respond to your coaching enquiry and share relevant program, batch and fee information.
  • To contact you about admission, batch scheduling, or academic updates you have asked about.
  • To maintain internal records of enrolled and prospective students for academic administration.
  • To comply with a legal obligation, where applicable.

We do not use your personal data for any purpose beyond what it was collected for, and you may withdraw consent at any time as described under "Your Rights" below.

Data Retention

We retain enquiry and student data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes above — typically for the duration of your association with the Academy plus a reasonable period thereafter for academic record-keeping — after which it is deleted or anonymised, unless a longer period is required by law or you have asked us to delete it sooner.

Data Storage & Security

Enquiry data is stored in access-controlled Google Workspace services (Sheets/Drive) protected by account-level authentication. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This Site itself does not set cookies for its own functionality, but third-party services embedded on the Site — such as Google Maps, Google Fonts, and Google AdSense — may set cookies or use similar tracking technologies to operate their services, remember preferences, and serve relevant content. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Advertising — Google AdSense

We use, or intend to use, Google AdSense to display advertisements on this Site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
  • Third-party ad vendors may collect anonymized data about your visits to this and other websites to provide relevant advertisements.

Affiliate Links

From time to time, our blog posts may contain affiliate links to books, courses, or other products relevant to our students. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Any post containing affiliate links carries a clear disclosure notice near the top of that post. We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful to our students.

Third-Party Services

This Site embeds or links to the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Fonts — for typography (Montserrat, Open Sans)
  • Google Maps — for the embedded location map
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — for enquiry and contact chat
  • Google Sheets / Apps Script — for internally recording enquiry form submissions
  • Google AdSense — for displaying advertisements

We do not control these third parties' data practices. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Children's & Students' Privacy

Our coaching serves Intermediate (often minors), Diploma and B.Tech students. Under the DPDP Act, a "child" is any individual below 18 years of age, and processing a child's personal data requires verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian.

If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian submit the enquiry form on your behalf, or be present/aware when you do so yourself. By submitting the enquiry form for a student under 18, the submitting parent/guardian confirms they are providing informed consent for us to process that student's information solely for admission and academic purposes described in this policy. We do not knowingly use children's personal data for tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising, and if we learn that a child's data has been submitted without appropriate parental knowledge, we will delete it promptly on request.

Your Rights (Data Principal Rights)

Under the DPDP Act, you (as a "Data Principal") have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed;
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as it was given — this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal;
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how your data has been handled (see "Grievance Officer" below).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in "Contact Us" below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
